Our Home

We arrived March 15th, 1:00 am and have been settling down for a month, getting our place organized and ready to show everyone. We've had the chance to Skype with some of ya'll, but for those of you who haven't had the pleasure:

Brad's car is now nestled in the garage, but here is a shot he took before training.
Welcome!
Entryway... yes, I put a frame around our peephole :D
Living Room
Kitchen/Dining area.
I am in love with the grey place mats and yellow napkins I found!
Laundry off of the kitchen.
Half bath off of the dining area.
Door to our "backyard" :)
Hey Oscar!
App garden flag. Had to.
Hubs' grill and the amazing table and chairs he surprised me with for Easter!
This is about as much yard as we've got in the back...
don't you love the 'Desert Landscaping' aka gravel?!
Now... back inside, going upstairs.
Guest bath at the top of the stairs
Guest bedroom... complete with clean laundry I've yet to put away.
Office!
My side of the office! Mom, thanks for the roll-top desk!!
Master Bedroom! My favorite space :D
The nook in our room! Love!
Master bath
Walk-in Closet!!
(Brad took it upon himself to just use the guest closet.
True story, I offered to share.)
Jewelry Station! Well.. earring station mostly. :)

So there's our slice of Arizona! We sure do love it, and I'm ready for hubs to get home from training so I'll have him to share it with again!

We have a HOUSE!

Brad and I have been searching for homes in Arizona for a good few months now. We've wanted something close to base for Brad (since I don't have a job location as of yet), decent space, somewhat of a yard (maybe grass), and double sinks in the master bath. This past week we found one we both fell in love with and that was actually still available!! We began the application process this past Monday and Wednesday evening we found out that we GOT THE HOUSE!!!

We are so thankful to have a place we'll be able to call home (and for some of you I'm sure - a vacation home! Come visit HINT HINT!) once we get to Arizona in a short couple of weeks! Yay for first time home renters! haha Here she is!:

This is the Stuff

this is the stuff that drives me crazy
this is the stuff that's getting to me lately
in the middle of my little mess,
i forget how big i'm blessed

this is the stuff that gets under my skin
but i've gotta trust You know exactly what you're doing
might not be what i would choose
but this is the stuff You use

so break me of impatience
conquer my frustrations
i've got a new appreciation
it's not the end of the world

On my way to work this morning, Francesca Battistelli's hit came on the radio. I've heard it a thousand times and it's catchy, sure. Before this morning it hadn't sunk into my heart though.

With a big move coming up for hubs and I, we have been house hunting, looking at cars and job searching (teacher positions) every day now for the past two weeks. It is tiring and has been accompanied by disappointments. Several houses we've been interested in have recently been leased when we get in touch with the realtor. In looking for positions, I've run into roadblocks and paperwork that keeps adding up each day. It gets  frustrating after a while and some days it just gets to me.

Not to mention having to think about when we need to start packing, when we can pick up a rental truck to load up and when we will have to say our good-byes here in NC. UGH! I've tried and tried to not think about leaving my beloved Boone and these beautiful mountains, but it creeps closer every day. (We'll be leaving mid-March)

Anyway... Thank you, God, for the reminder I needed to rest in Your love and that I'm blessed beyond measure.

House Hunting

Brad and I have started this past week to search online for a home to rent. We are mostly looking in the Surprise area, which is close to Luke AFB and close to some schools I am in the process of applying to (ugh for having to job search again! ha!).

Anyway, I'm writing to vent about our first disappointment in searching for a home. We both found one we absolutely LOVED and was within our price range. Tonight we got a call back from the realtor that's renting it, and someone signed a lease for it last week. Of course.

If anyone has any friends/relatives/acquaintances in the Surprise, AZ area and can recommend anything, give us a shout.

In the meantime, we will continue our searching... and leave you with the house that was almost ours to rent.
